This is a second hand Trevor James Alphasax in full working order. This saxophone plays easily from top to bottom and produces a lovely tone. As a second hand instrument it does have a few minor dings and other signs of use but these are purely cosmetic and do not affect the playability of the saxophone. This saxophone has had some custom engraving done on the bell but this is purely cosmetic and does not affect the playability.

 

The Alpha sax is designed for beginners and those looking for a lighter instrument. With a simplified mechanism and 33% less weight that traditional saxophones, the Alpha sax allows students to start 2-3 years earlier or adults looking for a lighter instrument to be more comfortable. Several of the Alphasax's keys have been moved in order to make the instrument more accessible for young students. Other keys have been left off completely, making the instrument lighter and more simple for beginners. The 'missing' keys are those at the extremes of the instrument's range that are not usually required until later on in the student's development. In all other respects the Alphasax plays and sounds like a conventional alto saxophone.
