The NUX Tube man effects pedal provides a genuine "Tube like sound" that gives a bit more than your average Tube Screamer. The idea was more gain, if you're not playing through a real tube amp cranked for overdrive, it's difficult to get genuine tube style overdrive sounds. The Tube Man uses a FET transistor system which has overdrive and distortion capabilities built into it and is the next best step to getting that actual analog tube sound.

Using a FET Transistor System, which already has overdrive and distortion capabilities is a better approach to maintain the genuine sound you get from an actual analog tube amp.
