This is a Martin Handcraft C Melody saxophone in rare excellent condition. The serial number dates it to 1924, which makes it over one hundred years old. This saxophone is in fully working order and has a lovely, mellow sound. It is quite different to altos and tenors and very much its own unique thing.

This horn shows a few signs of wear, largely in terms of tarnish and light scratches but is free from significant dents or major scratches. This horn is in full playing condition and plays easily down to low Bb.

This horn was overhauled relatively recently and then basically put in its case and not played. The pads are very clean and should last a long time. 

This saxophone comes with what appears to be its original case, which is worn but competely functional. The handle has been replaced with a sturdy improvised job. The latches work and the horn is secure inside. 

This horn also comes with a Morgan C4 mouthpiece, which is specially designed to work with C melody saxophones but takes a standard tenor reed. Also included is a leather Rovner ligature.
