Gibson Trap Door Ukulele Banjo with Hard Case
This is a very unique and rather rare Gibson Trap Door Ukulele Banjo. Gibson fitted the resonator of these banjoleles with a hinged mechanism that allows the resonator to open and project sound toward the player. This is similar to many of their famed banjos and mandolins, which had a similar design. This ukulele banjo has a calf skin head held in place by a metal ring and 20 brackets. It has a maple pot and neck with rosewood fingerboard and the ''python'' shaped headstock.
This ukulele banjo has been cared for very well by its previous owner and is very tidy. The head is a calf skin head in very good condition with a lot of life left in it. As a second hand instrument, it has a few minor signs of use but these are strictly cosmetic and very minor. The trap door mechanism works easily and smoothly. This is quite a special ukulele banjo.
This ukulele banjo comes with a rectangular hard case that protects the instrument very well and is in full working order.
