1932 Selmer Super Series Tenor Saxophone
1932 Selmer Super Series Tenor Saxophone
There are a couple of little things to know about this horn. First, the neck has a piece of metal running from the brace to the cork. It's unclear whether this is a historical repair or an irregularity in early production. At any rate it doesn't affect the way the horn plays. Secondly, the brace between the body and the bell has a little bit of flex to it, as many of these early tenors do, which is just a design thing. It's a factor of the brace being so thin. (This was significanlty beefed up on later models) Third, the Eb aux/trill key on the back of the body is missing its key guard. Most people block this key off anyway by wedging something under the keygaurd to prevent the key from opening. This one has been sprung backwards so it won't open. This just helps with regulation by taking one needlessly complicated mechanism out of the picture.
