This 3 valve Bb Tuba is the Boosey & Co Imperial Model. It has the inscription on the bell which reads, "Imperial Model, 'Solbron', Class A , Compensating Pistons". The serial number dates it to 1929.

The Imperial Model was the top of the range professional level instrument from Boosey and Co.

This tuba is generally in good condition and full working order - all valves and slides move freely. There have been some repairs made to it over the years, including some resoldering on the pipework. The resting ball at the bottom has also been removed. There are signs of wear to the silver plating in a few places and some dings, small dents and scrapes, but nothing which affects the playability

It comes with a hard case and a Besson 13 mouthpiece.
